El Salvador is preparing to host the Adopting Bitcoin Conference.
El Salvador, the first Latin American country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender, is now keen on hosting the Adopting Bitcoin conference to discuss Bitcoin’s use cases at length. Per the official press statement, the conference will be held at San Salvador and Bitcoin beach from November 15-17 to comprehensively explore Bitcoin and its utilitarian properties. Speaking about El Salvador’s brazen Bitcoin adoption and its related benefits, Nicholas Burtey, CEO of Galoy, said that he believes that El Salvador is set to become the Singapore of Central America.
“Nobody expected a sovereign nation to adopt bitcoin as legal tender in 2021. The move has changed public perception about both the country and the currency. El Salvador is now making strides to become the Singapore of Central America and a beacon for financial inclusion, while bitcoin is proving itself as an excellent medium of exchange that can facilitate millions of daily transactions. The statement reads,
The first two days of the event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Convention Center in El Salvador. The conference will broadly emphasise Bitcoin and how its inclusion can transform the global financial system. Day three of the event will see the attendees of the conference pay a visit to Bitcoin Beach, El Zonte, where the country’s Bitcoin adoption originated.
More than 110 speakers from 30 countries are expected to attend the event in El Salvador that aims to promote Bitcoin and its impact on a global scale. In addition, the speakers will largely discuss the latest developments from the “whole spectrum of bitcoin disciplines, relating to both technology and the economy.”
Speaking about the conference in detail, Mike Peterson, director of Bitcoin Beach added:
“After less than one year, we are seeing one in five people use bitcoin daily… Now delegations of representatives, bankers, and technologists from all corners of the world are coming to El Salvador to learn how bitcoin can be used as a tool for financial inclusion.”
Among several crypto dignitaries, Mexican Senator Indira Kempis, popularly known for her role in pursuading authorities to establish Bitcoin as a legal tender in Mexico, will also be attending the event to discuss economic developments involving BTC. In addition, Jon Atack, a prominent Bitcoin core developer, will also be delivering key technological presentations at the conference.
