Gala, Universal Games and Digital Platforms have dropped the Trolls VOX NFTs. These NFTs are based on the Trolls toy line and the 2016 Dreamworks movie. However, despite the brand’s popularity and the 2020 “Trolls World Tour” sequel, only 3000 NFTs have been sold so far. Why is this the case?
About DreamWorks Trolls VOX NFTs
The DreamWorks Trolls VOX NFTs went live on October 15 on Coinbase. Each NFT costs 0.888ETH and gives you a chance to win Gala Music allowlist tokens as well as VOXverse land parcels. What’s more, collectors will be able to exchange their ERC-1155 VOX Box for an ERC-721 DreamWorks Trolls VOX in late October. Additionally, they will also receive a limited-edition branded hoodie.
This recent NFT collection will hold a very special place in the VOXverse. According to VOXverse creator Will Wright, the Trolls will function as the party animals of the world and create social good.
Why is no one minting these NFTs?
Only 3000 NFTs have sold, despite significant backing and the popularity of the Trolls. There are still 5,898 NFTs up for grabs. This might be due to the fact that the NFTs from this collection cost 0.888 ETH a piece, which is approximately $1179.03. Undoubtedly, this is quite steep for a non-bluechip NFT collection during the bear market.
Additionally, big business IPs have not worked super well when it comes to NFTs. The floor price for the Nickelodeon NFTs has dropped significantly. The same thing happened with the VeVe Disney NFTs. Therefore, it is safe to say that NFT collectors prefer innovative concepts and IPs rather than overly-familiar content.
