Multi-awarded singer Rihanna is ready to enter the metaverse with virtual cosmetics under her beauty brand, Fenty.
Following her success in the music industry, Rihanna then built the cosmetic and skincare brand in 2017. She also grew it into a 570-million-dollar company in just 4 years.
Recently, the singer has filed a new trademark, as reported by US trademark attorney Josh Gerben. He notes that Rihanna will offer virtual cosmetics and hair care products under Fenty.
The Rihanna Fenty Brand and its Web3 Future
The singer and business owner hasn’t revealed much about her metaverse adoption yet. But, it’s likely Rihanna will bring Fenty to Decentraland. The virtual world has already welcomed apparel brand Wrangler and footwear company Skechers. Plus, it even hosts events such as the Metaverse Fashion Week, coming right up in the last week of March.
Still, there are other great options for Fenty. For example, the beauty brand may enter The Sandbox, which also welcomes artists and DJs such as Paris Hilton.
Rihanna’s Mission with her brand
So far, the brand has had great success across 1,600 stores in 17 countries. Rihanna founded Fenty with the mission of catering to all skin types and tones. With Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin, the singer hopes to create makeup that inspires.
“It should never feel like pressure. It should never feel like a uniform. Feel free to take chances, and take risks, and dare to do something new or different,” says Rihanna. The businesswoman’s values on beauty pretty much agrees with the fun, adventurous, and ever-evolving nature of the Web3.
Still, we don’t have the answers as to where exactly in the whole wide metaverse she’s taking Fenty. So, such and more interesting questions remain.
Consider this. When Rihanna finally launches her virtual Fenty products on Web3, will fans stay under her umbrella? Who knows her cosmetic NFTs might shine bright like a diamond?
