It has been 20 years since the most lethal terror attack in the US States, so The Sandbox organized a fitting Metaverse event to remember the events 9/11. The NFT Collection “Heroes of 9/11” features two firefighters and two paramedics to honor the brave and selfless acts of the first responders.
The Sandbox teamed up with Epik Prime and the 9/11 Day Fundraiser. Epik Prime is the leading global licensing agency putting brands into video games, with the largest digital ecosystem with hundreds of the world’s most popular entertainment brands. Meanwhile, the 9/11 Day Fundraiser is on a mission to transform 9/11 from a day of tragedy into a day of doing good.
The Sandbox Pays Tribute to the fallen heroes of 9/11
The character NFTs up for purchase are Brenda, Josefina, Carlo and Danny. So the naming convention alone humanizes this event. Each NFT costs $4,000 SAND and there will only be 25 of each Legendary Hero, so a hundred in total. The net proceeds from the sale will go towards the 9/11 Day charity.
According to The Sandbox team, “The Heroes of 9/11 epitomized the highest and most altruistic aspects of humanity. These four characters are The Sandbox’s representation of the heroism shown on that fateful day.”
- EMT Josefina — efficiency, sincerity, and knowledge
- Fire Captain Brenda — Courage, determination and generosity
- Firefighter Danny — endurance, strength, and sacrifice
- Paramedic Carlo — empathy, intellect, and healing
Basically, Epik Prime gathered industry-leading game studios and famous NYC artists to create the Metaverse Multi-Game Fundraiser. To enumerate, artists Vladimir Nazarov, Cope2, Jason Naylor, Michael Rieger, Studio 502, AWTT, David Olenick and many others donated and participated in the event.
